Guys....i was attacking a superior colony than me wid 20 full tank squads as the colony had no units in it.I was on checking whether the owner had moved his units or not.But at the last 30 secs of tick when i refreshed i found that the owner was moving its units and it was only 1 tick away..SAME AS ME...so i decided to pull back wid 20 seconds for the nxt tick.Bt to my dismay i found when i pulled my sqauds back it showed that a TICK IS PASSED.PLZ REFRESH.

Fortunately i won the battle bt wid heavy losses.i still cannot understand why it showed it was already a tick when 20 seconds were still there.CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN ME THIS?

Cant say for sure but probably had units moving away that he returned or something. A lot of little tactics can happen if you arent constantly refreshing every 5-10 minutes every tick of an attack to see whats happened.

Oh the margin for tick error is about 1 minute for the game due to server lag. Usually the tick never happens later than its suppose to it usually ends earlier than its suppose to if it messes up. Which is why you see a lot of major armies move with 1 minute left instead of 5-15 seconds

Maybe your confidence is misplaced. I would suggest watching the clock on your computer rather than the tick countdown.

lol yea also some worlds have very distinct patterns on their lag. for example the last time i played e2 my team noticed that there was about a 1 and 30 secs at the 30 mins but it refreshed way after when it was 00

I noticed this with M2 ^_^ The tick wasn't for about 20 seconds after the countdown had finished

In-game counters aren't 100% accurate, it's best to make any last minute moves before the 60 second mark if you're unsure about the particular server's lag, which has nothing to do with your internet connection.

normally, what I do is, Checking World clock once with my PC Time, all worlds have different Clocks lol, like e1 have same time tick change time as I have on my PC, g1 also like it, But F2 is on like 29 minuts 20 seconds ... others are like this....

it depends on your net and PC speed also, if you have faster net and PC, you can callibrate timing once, and follow this next time for that particular world :)
