It doesnt matter if you win the battle if it cost you more resources to do so. Everyone resources differs...your enemy may make 400 and you may make 2,000. If you compare armies that way then again it is different. All your battles you do, you have xx left. Meaning you lost a ton of units, most in which are not needed

No one has presented any battle situation where there isnt any losses... even using range...
And if you do, then switch the range army into damage units... and you will still not get any losses... and if you do they are minimal, and with damage you dont have to fear the range armies.....
I will test this on the next new world and report back.

OdinGOW, I'm new to the game and thought the same thing as you at first. I see now what the others are talking about, but they're just not making it very clear.
Imagine: You're attacking someone who has 30 armor, 30 range. You're attacking them because you know you can win easily.
Scenario 1: You bring 50 armor, 100 range to the fight. You win the battle, losing 15 armor.
Scenario 2: You bring 50 armor, 10000 damage to the fight. You win the battle, losing 30 armor, because it took 2 rounds for your damage to attack.
The armor/range thing seems to be all about minimizing losses when you greatly outmatch your opponent. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Christ this OdinGOW guy is just plain delusional. Trying to read his posts and follow his points is harder than visualizing this guy actually being successful in BD. The game isn't played on a battle simulator and no one in their right mind would attack with an even army unless they were forced to and/or made a mistake in scouting/intel.
You keep talking about not liking to repeat yourself, well I read the thread from the beginning to end and most times you don't even say the same thing or make the same point. Your thoughts are so convoluted that you probably confuse yourself and forget what the goal of your post is.
Seriously, give up, you're not impressing anyone or swaying anyone to your way of thinking. It's just embarrassing watching you flounder around. Quite sad.
Someone playing the game for 2 days makes it painfully clear that armor/range is the most effective and efficient way to setup your armies for maximum dmg vs. cost output. You'd realize that if you weren't so busy trying to convince everyone you know what you're talking about. It's pure hubris to think that you know more than hundreds of other veteran players. Thanks for playing, please drive-through.
