 Post subject: Whats the point on changing the resource amount on boosts?

Why is this even a thing? whats the point? from a strategical point of wiew is useless (saving up metal to increase the boost metal amount a couple units what?) and for the profit point of view of tacticsoft, why do they care if we recieve a thousand more or less metal from boosts?

Can someone shed some sense in this...
