Tokens allow you to buy boosts which can mean gold/lumber resources if you purchase that boost with the tokens. Subs never receive anything for winning unless they are the actual winner, subs are in essence an ally that does the bidding of another alliance and has little will of their own. An ally doesn't get a part of any winning bonus so therefor subs don't as well, that isn't to say though that subs or allies aren't necessary to winning .
Also some bad news... reset is going to be delayed another day or two so that we can get the new update out first. The last of the coding for the features was put on the RC world so we need people to test everything on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=118&t=3195&p=50785#p50785.
Check out the new interface, it's a lot different

Just another note, a different reason I and a ton of other competition won't come here is because it's double tick. Which is more about chaos and messing around than playing the game seriously.

I still haven't decided which one I like better yet. The pace of double tick servers is nice and it's easy to accomplish a lot in a little bit of time, but it's also nice being able to sleep a bit at night when you are at war on a single tick server.

The game already requires crazy amounts of activity to play well without doubling that requirement. On double tick it's about catching the guy offline more than catching him in a mistake... I'd rather feel like I was smarter than my enemy rather than just online more often.

Agreed on that note Kane, I don't play double tick servers because they are just TOO demanding for me but we do have a very large amount of players that enjoy the "hardcore" speed of it.
To each their own

I hate the misconception that double tick servers are "more hardcore"... this is not the case.
There's far less strategy.

I believe they just expand the gap between the active and inactive. Thus allowing someone active/skilled to destroy and alliance in a day/week versus week/month.

Tho I don't "love" double speed I like to play them cause some times (not very often some good alliances gathered in the old client E6. Out of that I remember E7 being the perfect example of what Niracas just said. An alliance owning the server faster than in other servers due the fact active in double killed the players that usually played single and suddenly decided a double (normally none of these last ones are elite players) to watch and bring some competition.
Anyway. I'm trying to gather an alliance to this F3 server as part of my hate for subs. I'm not going to give away terrain to the subs when my friends are playing there against 20+ subs (las time I checked there existed a KC21), considering I was used to double tick maybe I can bring some help and a test for myself before I play another normal tick server
