It was close to 7 months since the Kashiran-human war started. And the humans were winning. They had already pushed the Kashirans back to Alaska. And had captured almost every Kashiran outpost and killed almost every one of their armies. And they were about to make one last push. And eliminate the Kashirans for once and for all.
With the great human army on the borders of Alaska, they loaded and fired the nukes. Some were shot down by the Kashirans ion cannons but still, many hit their target. Deafening explosions were heard and large mushroom clouds were seen.
The humans then sent their army into Alaska. Everywhere they went, they could see dead Kashiran soldiers. They thought that the Kashirans were dead. All dead. So they explored their hive. They found lots of amazing technology which survived the blast and pillaged as much of their technology as they could. Eventually, they decided that they had enough technology to survive on mars. And they went about building a new army capable of surviving there and space craft to fly there.
A year later, they had 11 space craft built. Each capable of carrying a hundred people. But one night, an unauthorized launch took place. The humans soon realized that there were a few surviving Kashirans and that they had managed to hijack a human ship. Suddenly, massive explosions were heard. 6 of the remaining 10 had been sabotaged and destroyed. 2 more went down in the explosion.
What the humans didn't know was, the Kashirans had placed nuclear mines and explosives in every major city and country and they were being detonated from space. When a nuclear mine detonated about 60 miles from the launch station, the surviving humans boarded the remaining 2 ships, loaded them with whatever technology and weapons that were still intact and launched without further delay.
Once safely in orbit, they scanned earth with their long range scanners. The planet was getting torn apart. Oceans were drying up, fissures were appearing everywhere, volcanoes were erupting uncontrollably. All vegetation as well as signs of life burnt up. Those weren't ordinary nukes. They had been modified for extra power. Now, Earth was a mini hell.
Their destination was mars. With only 1 objective. To eliminate the Kashirans for once and for all. But the Kashirans would have the advantage as they had more time to build up and would most likely be experienced on mars. More experienced than the humans.
Whatever that would happen on mars, they knew it would be another long war.
